Your baby is so special! Believing that all Maine children deserve the opportunity to succeed, Harold Alfond made available $500 for each new Maine baby to start a NextGen® account for their education beyond high school. With the $500 Grant, your new arrival is born to succeed!

There is no income limit and no money needed to open and maintain the NextGen® account. The only requirements are that your baby must be a Maine resident, and you must enroll your child in the program before their first birthday.

While in the hospital after your baby's birth, you'll be given an inquiry card to complete. This will ensure that you receive the information packet necessary to start your baby's NextGen® account and the acceptance of the $500 gift.

Open this "gift" and open doors to your child's dreams. There's no telling how far your child can go with the gift of a good start.
